David Haggerty David Haggerty
Service Manager

Experience/Awards: My quest to learn and experience more about automobiles started after the purchase of my first G.M. car in 1975. It was a high performance 1970 Camaro Z-28 and yes I was 17 years old, in high school and knew nothing about cars at the time. Thirty-two years later I started my career in a high performance / corvette specialty shop to then working at G.M. dealerships as a technician, becoming an A.S. E. Master Technician and becoming lead tech and diagnostician in the dealership where I worked.
At 26, I became the final quality control manager at a Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW dealer, then taking control of the BMW dealership as the Service Manger. My early career took place in Ft. Myers, Fla. In a quest to stay current with the ever changing automobile over the last 32 years I have attended far too many courses and obtained far too many certifications to list. I am now a Master Certified Service Manager with Mazda, Isuzu and Cadillac but still stay current on the technical end by taking as many technical courses as possible.

At all my positions Customer Service as been at the forefront and the highest priority. Many times my department and I have been recognized for High Customer Satisfaction, scoring the highest in the region and last year by ranking #5 in the nation with Mazda. Of course, if you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to contact me directly!
Tenure:
In have been with Moss Robertson since 1997 as the Service Manager.

Involvement in Community, Sports, etc/Hobbies:
·        I coached little league baseball for 5 years.
·        I volunteer with the team from Moss Robertson in the local high schools with Junior Achievement while teaching a course in business opportunities and free enterprise once a week.
·        I volunteer at Med Share international, a non profit company that collects medical supplies and ships to third world countries.
·        I am active in Lake Lanier sailing club, competing in sailing regattas and competitions. Some of the sailing community regattas benefit charities such as the Special Olympics
·        I have spent many a mile in the saddle of my 14speed bicycle doing community rides of 50 and 60 miles…although not many here lately.

Almost anything outside for me can become a love and hobby: anything on the water, camping, I walk a hour a day(in the wee hours of the morning before work) and that’s after my wife and I have walked our 3 dogs!!

Family:
I have just remarried a year and a half ago after being a bachelor for 7 years and truth be told, Wanda, my wife is really the sailor in the family. She is the one who brought 3 sailboats into the family when we were married. Our first date was dinner after a day spent out racing a sailboat on a cold December day on Lake Lanier. Not completely dressed for the occasion I have never been so wet and cold in my life as I was that windy day…but look where it took me! Wanda owns her own business doing Quick Book consulting and book keeping.

My son Thomas (T.J.) as most know him around the dealership (since he has been a porter that many of you have enjoyed talking to on rides back home or to work) is continuing his studies at U.G.A. When you ask him now what he is doing be prepared to get lost in cloning of DNA of anaerobic cultures of samples of gosh know what, collected from around the world?? He usually loses me after a sentence or two? Nod like I do it helps look like you know what he is talking about. He has been very busy helping graduate students with their thesis studies even though he is still an undergrad and when not working in the lab, he is the volunteer coordinator for Med Share. I don’t know where he is going to find the time, but, he told me a day or so ago he wants to volunteer for a group in
Athens that restores bicycles and donates them to needy kids. I guess that’s why he was the one in the family recognized by President Bush by way of commendation for his volunteer hours.

Last but not least, we have three beautiful canines: Dottie the 14 year old mixed bred, C.C. the 13 year mixed breed and Seanna the 20 month old Shih-Tzu.
